Happy is

In questo caldo weekend ho creato questo mini album, e indovinate da dove ho preso ispirazione? Ma certo, sempre da Stephanie, dal suo bellissimo tutorial!

On this hot weekend, I created this mini album, and I was inspired by... Yes, by Stephanie, of course and by her fantastic tutorial!

In genere non amo molto gli accordion, però non so perchè quando vedo una cosa fatta da Stephanie la adoro sempre, e anche in questo caso mi sono innamorata della sua creazione. Ed ecco qui la mia versione, ho aggiunto qualche pagina in più perchè avevo tante foto che mi piacevano e alla fine ne ho anche eliminata qualcuna.

Generally I don't love accordions, but I adore everything Stephanie makes, and I fell in love with her creation. And here is my version, I added a few more pages because I had so many pictures that I liked and I had also to put away some of them.

Ed eccolo tutto intero!

Mini Album Love

Eccomi qui con un altro mini che prende ispirazione da uno di... Stephanie, naturalmente! Grazie all'abbonamento Studio Calico, avevo esattamente gli stessi materiali, quindi non potevo lasciarmi sfuggire l'occasione di creare qualcosa di stupendo come quello che sa fare lei!

Here I am with another mini. I was inspired by... Stephanie, of course! Thanks to the Studio Calico subscription, I had exactly the same supplies, and I could not loose the opportunity to create something as beautiful as what she always does!

Era la prima volta in cui mi cimentavo con la macchina da cucire. Secondo me l'effetto delle cuciture rende un progetto più completo e più interessante, fa veramente la differenza! E infatti le mie scrapper preferite cuciono quasi sempre.

It was the first time I dealt with the sewing machine. I think that stitching makes a project more complete and more interesting, and really makes a difference! In fact, my favorite scrappers almost always sew.

E nell'ultima pagina, come ha fatto Stephanie, ho cucito la taschina, che contiene due card bellissime di Studio Calico. Adoro questa combinazione di colori!

And in the last page, like Stephanie did, I create a pocket, which contains two beautiful Studio Calico cards. I love this color combo!

Scrappers in villa - Il ritorno

Come l'anno scorso, in maggio ho partecipato a "Scrappers in villa", un evento organizzato da Tati e dalla fantastica Lory! La location era la stessa dell'anno scorso, villa Fiorelli a Prato, un posto dove immergersi nello scrap circondate da un grande parco, con la possibilità di dormire in ostello. 

As I did last year, in May I went to "Scrappers in Villa", an event organized by Tati and the fantastic Lory! The location was the same as last year, Villa Fiorelli in Prato, a place to soak in scrap surrounded by a large park, with the possibility of sleeping in the hostel.
 
Oggetto del corso, che si è tenuto sabato 24 e domenica 25, era un bellissimo mini album stile PL. Il supporto era un Handbook Studio Calico (io ne avevo già  uno, ma destinato a tutt'altro uso, è un sistema carino per tenere in ordine e organizzare i timbri... magari in un altro post posso mostrarvi come ho fatto), e abbiamo riempito i page protectors 6x8 inches con un kit PL sempre di Studio Calico, usandolo praticamente tutto! Il tema dell'album era libero, ma con il vincolo di organizzare le foto in 12 capitoli (Lory per il suo aveva scelto di dedicare ogni capitolo ad un mese dell'anno).

The class, which was held on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th, was about a beautiful mini album in PL style. It was a Studio Calico Handbook (I already have one, but used in a different way, it is a nice system to keep and organize stamps ... maybe in another post I can show you how I do), and we filled the 6x8" page protectors with a PL kit from Studio Calico, using pretty much everything! The theme of the album was free, but with the constraint of organizing photos in 12 chapters (Lory for her album had chosen a month of the year for each chapter).
 
La sera di sabato abbiamo continuato a scrappare, questa volta in modo (quasi) rilassato, con una sfida che ci ha permesso di creare un LO: si potevano usare cartoncino di base e foto propri, e solamente pochi abbellimenti e strumenti messi a disposizione dall'insegnante. C'erano paillette, pochi timbri, inchiostri, filo e due perforatori... come, niente carte per creare layer su layer, come piace a me??? E' stato molto interessante dover scrappare in modo diverso dal solito, ho dovuto pensare un bel po' ma poi è uscita questa pagina che mi piace molto.

On Saturday evening, we continued to scrap, this time in a (almost) relaxed way, with a challenge that allowed us to create a LO: we could use our cardstock and photos, and only a few embellishments and tools provided by the teacher. There were sequins, a few stamps, inks and two punches... what, no papers to create layer upon layer, just as I like??? It was very interesting having to scrapbook in a different way, I had to think a lot but then it came out a page I really like.

Sono stata fortunata perchè uno dei timbri messi a disposizione era perfetto per la mia foto, mi piace tantissimo.

I was lucky because one of the stamps provided was perfect for my photo, I love it.

Ho usato delle tecniche che ci ha spiegato Lory per movimentare un po' il LO... Alla fine è una pagina che mi rispecchia proprio, e sono contenta del risultato!

I used the techniques that Lory explained to us to spice up the LO...  At the end this is a page that reflect my personality, and I'm happy with the result!

E ora non mi resta che aspettare l'anno prossimo per rivivere questa stupenda esperienza. Lory è un'insegnante e una persona fantastica, secondo me la più brava scrapper italiana e infatti è famosa all'estero e fa parte del creative team di Studio Calico. E' anche troppo divertente conoscere o incontrare di nuovo altre ragazze che condividono questa passione, oltretutto abbiamo dormito in 11 nella stessa stanza, quindi credo che ormai possiamo considerarci legate ;) E per finire... avevamo anche un negozio a disposizione, Mani di Fata, e le ragazze avevano portato troppe cose stupende, ho passato parecchio tempo a ispezionare bene tutto e ho comprato tante belle cosine!

And now I just have to wait until next year to live this wonderful experience again. Lory is a fantastic teacher and a great person, I think she's the best Italian scrapper: she's well known abroad and part of the creative team of Studio Calico. And it was too much fun to know or meet again other girls who share my passion, we also slept in the same room and we were eleven, so I guess now we could say we are friends ;) And... we even had a shop for us, Mani di Fata, and the girls had brought so many wonderful things, I spent a lot of time inspecting everything and I bought so many beautiful things!

Project Life

Faccio Project Life dal giugno 2012. Quando scopro una cosa nuova, mi piace informarmi su di essa in modo completo, sto ore a leggere tutto ciò che è stato scritto, vedere da dove nasce, capire come si può esplorare in tutte le sue forme... è un tratto del mio carattere che non mi fa vivere bene se non conosco alla perfezione l'argomento. Quante ore passate a osservare nei blog le versioni più famose del PL! Le mie scrapper preferite per quanto riguarda questo progetto sono sicuramente Leena Loh (findingnana) e Christine Newman (Listgirl), ed è dopo aver esplorato a fondo il blog di Becky Higgins e quelli di queste due fantastiche ragazze che mi sono decisa a cominciare. 

I do Project Life since June 2012. When I discover something new, I like to know about it completely, I spend hours reading everything that has been written about it, see where it comes from, understand how you can explore it in all its forms... it is part of my nature wanting to know perfectly the topic. How many hours spent watching the blog of the most famous versions of PL! My favorite scrappers regarding this project are definitely Leena Loh (findingnana) and Christine Newman (Listgirl), and after exploring in depth the blog of Becky Higgins and those of these two wonderful girl, I decided to begin.

Ho sempre fatto PL nel formato più classico di due facciate per settimana, e sono praticamente sempre stata alla pari. Questa cosa di rimanere alla pari causa molti patemi d'animo alle persone che si avvicinano al PL, anche se secondo me non ha senso, cosa cambia se si scrappa la settimana in corso o quella di tre mesi fa? L'importante secondo me è organizzare le foto settimana per settimana, sceglierle e prepararsi almeno in linea di massima uno schema della pagina (quali foto inserire in quale tasca e quindi in quale dimensione).

I have always done PL in the classic format of a spread of two pages a week, and I'm pretty much always been up to date. Remaining up to date causes many worries to people who want to do PL, though I do not understand why, what matters if you're doing the current week or that of three months ago? The important thing for me is to organize the photos week by week, choose them and prepare at least a scheme of the page.

Io faccio così, il lunedì o martedì scelgo le foto da inserire nell'album per la settimana precedente, e entro il giovedì le stampo a casa con la mia Selphy. Poi durante il fine settimana, di solito di sabato, creo le pagine, prima inserendo le foto nelle tasche e scegliendo per ciascuna la sua card. Quando sono soddisfatta della disposizione e dei colori, procedo a abbellire ogni singola foto, aiutata in questo dai bellissimi kit scrapbooking e PL di Studio Calico!
Purtroppo non ho ancora imparato a fotografare il PL in modo decente, e quindi non riesco ancora a postare le varie settimane in modo dettagliato come fanno le mie colleghe... Magari prima o poi troverò il modo e comincerò a farvi vedere da vicino come intendo io il PL!

I organize myself like this: on Monday or Tuesday I choose the photos for the album for the previous week, and by Thursday I print them at home with my Selphy. Then over the weekend, usually on Saturdays, I create the pages first by putting the photos into the pockets and choosing every card. When I am satisfied with the layout and colors, I proceed to scrap every single photo, helped in this by the beautiful SC and PL kits from Studio Calico!
Unfortunately I have not yet learned how to photograph PL in a decent way, and so I still cannot post the weeks in detail... Maybe sooner or later I will find the way and you will see up close how I do PL!
