E' il primo dicembre, ma dove è volato novembre? All'ultimo minuto, cioè durante questo fine settimana, ho finalmente preparato la base di quello che sarà il mio DD quest'anno! Partendo dal presupposto che volevo cambiare un po' rispetto agli anni scorsi, anche se devo dire che quando riguardo quegli album mi piacciono sempre tantissimo, ho deciso di provare con la misura 6x8 inches, ovvero circa 15x20 cm, verticale. Inoltre voglio che sia un album molto semplice, pulito. Per questo Natale ho scelto carte e abbellimenti Toga, questi:
It's the 1st of December, but where has November gone? At the last minute, during this weekend, I finally prepared the base of what will be my DD this year! Thinking that I wanted to change a little from previous years, although I must say that when I look at those albums I like them so much, I decided to try with the 6x8 inches size, about 15x20 cm, vertical. I also want to make an album very simple, clean. For this Christmas I chose Toga papers and embellishments, these:
Ma l'idea dell'album è comunque di lasciare più bianco possibile... anche se le pagine non sono tutte bianche, ho usato bazzil di diversi colori, sempre tenui. Ho cucito sui quattro lati ogni pagina, e piano piano mi sembra di migliorare con la macchina da cucire! Tra una pagina e l'altra ho inserito un foglio di vellum, un po' per ricordare i vecchi album di una volta che avevano la velina... E per quanto riguarda i numeri dei giorni, ho deciso, dopo varie prove, di stamparli e embossarli direttamente sul vellum.
Ecco il risultato:
But the idea of the album is to let the white show... even if the pages are not all white, because I used bazzil of different colors. I sewed on the four sides of each page, and slowly I seem to improve with the sewing machine! Between a page and the other I put a sheet of vellum, as to remember old albums... And about the numbers of the days, I decided, after various tests, to print and emboss them directly on vellum.

Quest'anno ho voluto anche una rilegatura semplice, e quindi ho scelto di usare due anelli. Ora manca la copertina, ma per quella non ho fretta, ci devo pensare bene. Mi piace com'è venuto cicciottello l'album, e lo sarà ancora di più man mano che lo riempirò! Sono proprio soddisfatta, e ora... si comincia!
This year I also wanted a simple binding, so I chose to use two rings. I have to do the cover, but for that I'm in no hurry, I will think about it. I like this fat album, and it will be even fatter as I fill it! I'm really satisfied, and now... let's begin!
