Glitter & Gold

Che bello, manca poco a Natale ormai, e come ogni anno sto preparando le pagine per il mio DD! Quest'anno sono un po' in difficoltà a prendere qualsiasi decisione, il formato, che tipo di fogli usare come base, la rilegatura... solo di una cosa sono sicurissima, voglio tanto glitter e tanto oro! :)
Yeeh, it's almost Christmas, and like I do every year I'm preparing the pages for my DD! This year I'm having some hard time in making any decision, the size, the type of paper to use as a base, the binding... of one thing only I am quite sure, I want a lot of glitter and gold!

Intanto ho provato varie tecniche per capire quale usare, voglio sporcare i fogli con brillantini dorati, e ho provato con la colla diluita. Ecco il risultato, che adoro!
Meanwhile, I have tried various techniques to figure out which one to use, I want to splatter the page with gold glitter, and I tried it with diluted glue. Here is the result, which I love!

La stessa tecnica l'ho provata spruzzando la colla, invece che lanciandola con il beccuccio, e il risultato è più o meno simile, con pattern diversi.
I tried the same technique spraying the glue, instead of throwing it with the spout, and the result is more or less similar, with different patterns.

Altra cosa dorata che ho provato è stato il Color Shine di Heidi Swapp, mi piace molto l'effetto ovattato che ha la spruzzata, e anche le macchie tonde create lasciando colare dall'alto l'inchiostro.
Another golden thing I tried was the Color Shine by Heidi Swapp, I really like the effect of the muffled splash, and even the round spots created  by the leaking ink.

Per ultimo, ho provato un tampone dorato comprato nuovo per l'occasione, anche questo mi ha stupito, non pensavo venisse così bene!
Finally, I tried a new golden inkpad bought for the occasion, it surprised me, I did not think it was so good!

Adoro l'oro!!!!

TMP Ottobre - Album bianco e nero

Eccomi con il post della serie TMP, questo mese io e Claudia abbiamo scelto un album facile e veloce, che fosse fattibile in una serata o due. E' un mini album in cui le foto si possono mettere alla fine, quindi per ora non abbiamo ancora scelto il tema ma abbiamo il tempo e il modo di pensarci un po' prima di ultimarlo.
Here I am with the TMP series post! This month, Claudia and I have chosen an album that's easy and fast, to do in an evening or two. It's a mini album in which pictures can be put at the end, so for now we have not yet chosen the theme but we have the time and the way to think about it a bit before completion.

Questo è il progetto che ci ha ispirato. Prima abbiamo creato le copertine, con due pezzi di cartoncino di recupero 23x8 cm che abbiamo rivestito. Poi abbiamo tagliato e piegato un bazzil bianco in un modo un po' particolare... 
We were inspired by this project. First of all we created the covers, with two pieces of cardboard, size 23x8 cm. Then we cut a bazzil white in a particular way...

E infine abbiamo abbellito la struttura con vari ritagli di carta decorata.
And finally completed the structure with various scraps of decorated paper.

Per ora da queste foto non si vede molto, ma appena finiamo l'album vi faccio vedere il risultato!
For now, from these photos you can't see much, but as soon as we finish the album I'll post the result!

Qualcosa di nuovo...

Ciao,
in questo periodo vedo tante scrapper che usano i notebook per conservare foto e ricordi, e mi piace moltissimo questo formato, tanto che ho voluto provare anch'io! In effetti è un modo più snello rispetto all'album PL, che forse comincia un po' ad andarmi stretto... dopo tre anni e mezzo chissà, magari è ora di cambiare formato, intanto per quest'anno continuo così ma se riesco a trovare una modalità diversa che mi soddisfa come il classico PL, niente vieta di cambiare!
Tornando a noi, intanto ho iniziato questa nuova avventura con il notebook che per ora conterrà foto che mi piacciono particolarmente, foto speciali. Ecco la mia prima pagina, ispirata da Marcy Penner, scrapper che adoro:

in this period I see many scrapper who use notebooks to store photos and memories, and I love this format, so I wanted to try it too! In fact it is a more slender way to scrap than a PL album, that maybe it's time to change after three years and a half... for this year I will continue with my 12x12 album, but if I can find a different mode that satisfies me as the classic PL, I could change!
Meanwhile I started this new adventure with the notebook that will for now contain photos that I especially like, special photos. Here is my first page inspired by Marcy Penner:

TMP Settembre - Summer Album

Eccomi qui con un post della serie TMP!
Questo mese io e Claudia non siamo riuscite a trovarci per scrappare insieme, quindi abbiamo deciso di farlo a "distanza", portandoci il materiale a lavoro per aiutarci a decidere le carte e le foto, e devo dire che ha funzionato! Inoltre la sfida questo mese era di utilizzare carte che non avremmo utilizzato normalmente, che magari ci piacciono ma non sono dei "nostri" colori. Sono contenta di aver fatto questo esperimento, perchè il risultato mi è piaciuto molto!
Il progetto di questo mese prende ispirazione da questo mini album, perfetto per scrappare le foto dell'estate, ed ecco il risultato:

This month, Claudia and I hadn't the possibility to scrapbook together, so we decided to do it apart, bringing the material to work to help us decide the cards and photos, and I must say that it worked! The challenge this month was to use papers that we would not normally use, that we like but are not "our" colors. I'm glad we did this experiment, because I really love the result!
The project of this month is inspired by this mini album, perfect for summer photos, and this is the result:

Ciao, finalmente sono riuscita a provare questo utile strumento, il Fuse. Serve per personalizzare i page protectors, creando taschine diverse. Ha una punta a rotellina che si scalda e fonde, lasciando l'effetto cucitura sul page protector. Qui vi mostro come ho creato due taschine 3''X4'' da una tasca 6''X4''. In questo caso mi serviva perchè avevo due card 3X4 pl che dovevano essere messe in verticale una sopra l'altra e i page protectors che uso normalmente, quelli di Becky Higgins Design A, prevedono due tasche orizzontali 6X4 sopra, quattro tasche verticali 3X4 in centro e altre due 6X4 sotto.
Hello, I finally managed to try this useful tool, the Fuse. It customizes the page protectors, creating several pockets. Here I show you how I created two 3''X4'' pockets  from a 6''X4'' pocket. I had two pl 3X4 card that had to be set vertically one above the other but page protectors that I use normally, Becky Higgins Design A, include two 6X4 horizontal pockets above,  four 3X4 vertical pockets in the center and two other 6X4 below.

Album Dubai - Le copertine

Finalmente sono riuscita a finire le pagine dell'album Dubai! Dopo aver preparato le basi di pagine e foto, ci ho messo un po' per riuscire a decidermi ad abbellire, mi spaventava un po' l'entità del mio compito, visto che l'album contiene tante pagine e che non sapevo da che parte cominciare... alla fine ho tirato fuori praticamente tutto quello che negli anni ho collezionato di Studio Calico, cose troppo belle da usare, e mi sono decisa a far fuori un po' di abbellimenti!
I finally managed to finish the pages of the Dubai album! After preparing the foundations (pages and pictures), it took me a while to decide how to embellish, the extent of my task scared me a little bit, given that the album contains many pages and I did not know which way to start... I finally pulled out virtually everything I have hoarded from Studio Calico in these years, and I decided to kill some kits!

E poi... rimane sempre il compito che di solito trovo più difficile: la creazione della copertina! Ho rilegato l'album con 3 anelli, quindi le copertine sono due cartoncini rivestiti e ho fatto così:
And then... the task that I usually find most difficult: the creation of the cover! I bound the album with 3 rings, so I created the covers from two cardstock and I did the following:

Rivestito il cartoncino sul davanti e piegati i lati all'interno

Incollati i lati all'interno

Rivestito l'interno con un foglio bianco

Fatti i buchi con la mia fedele Crop-A-Dile

Ed ecco il risultato finale :)

Ora devo solo decorare le copertine e poi trovare degli anelli abbastanza grandi per rilegare tutte le pagine (per ora ho diviso l'album in due). Che bello rivedere le foto di questo bellissimo viaggio!
Now I just have to decorate the covers and then find rings big enough to bind all the pages (for now I split the album in two parts). I love the photos of this beautiful journey!

TMP Giugno - PL

Per quanto riguarda Giugno, mi sono concentrata solo sul PL, perchè avevo anche l'album Dubai da continuare, e quindi niente progetto speciale.
Ecco un po' di spread PL di questi ultimi tempi!
As for June, I focused only on the PL, because I had also the Dubai album to continue, and so, no special project.

TMP Maggio - Dubai Album

Eccomi qui per il TMP di Maggio... ma quello di Aprile, vi chiederete? 
In effetti non ho più postato il lavoro iniziato in Aprile e che però non è finito perchè è un progetto a lungo termine, ma prima o poi recupero le foto e vi faccio vedere!
Invece per quanto riguarda Maggio, il progetto non poteva essere che l'album del viaggio a Dubai!
I'm here for the May TMP... but what of April, you could ask?
I've not posted the work started in April (and which is not finished because it is a long-term project) yet, but sooner or later I'll recover the photos and I'll show you!
But as for May, the project couldn't be but the album of the Dubai trip!

Ecco tutte le pagine insieme :) - all pages

La misura dell'album è principalmente 12x21,5, ma ho incorporato pagine di formati diversi. Prima di cominciare, avevo scelto una collezione di carte (Becky Higgins - Project Life - 12"x12" Paper Collection Pack - Jade Edition) in modo da avere già le basi delle pagine coordinate, ma in corso d'opera ho continuato a cercare inevitabilmente altre carte dai toni neutri e quindi ho mischiato un po' il materiale!
The size of the pages of the album is mainly 12x21,5, but I inserted different sized pages. At first I chose a collection of papers (Becky Higgins - Project Life - 12 "x12" Paper Collection Pack - Jade Edition) so I could already have coordinated base pages, but then I kept looking inevitably for other neutral papers and so I mixed the supplies!

Ho preparato le pagine con le foto, ora non resta che abbellire, e soprattutto decidere come rilegare, visto che è diventato un album troppo spesso, perchè non ho saputo rinunciare a tante foto!  
I inserted the photos, now I "just" have to embellish, and I have to decide how to bind the album, since it has become very thick!
